This summer, PantherTec founder Dr. Jo Shattuck was invited to the 2026 Global Goaltending Retreat (GGR) in Breckenridge, Colorado, to showcase the KAT device and educate coaches on the science of Kinesthetic Awareness and its role in hockey performance.
At GGR, we connected with many of the world's leading hockey goalie coaches to explore the future of goaltending development and performance training.
Over several days of presentations, collaboration, on- and off-ice demonstrations, and coaching discussions, we demonstrated how the KAT (Kinesthetic Awareness Trainer) can help goalies develop greater body awareness, movement efficiency, and adaptability through real-time haptic feedback. Coaches from around the world shared ideas, tested new applications, and explored ways to integrate KAT into modern goalie training environments.
The conversations reinforced a common theme: the future of goalie coaching isn't just about technical instruction — it's about helping athletes better understand, control, and adapt their own movement. We're excited to continue collaborating with some of the best minds in the sport as we develop new goalie-specific training applications.
Stay tuned for more videos, pictures, and insights from the retreat, new KAT hockey camps popping up across the country, and new hockey training content coming soon to the KAT app based on these collaborations. For now, here is a sneak peek at one of the applications we explored!
A huge thank you to the Global Goaltending Retreat organizers, coaches, and athletes who spent time with us throughout the event. We look forward to continuing these collaborations and helping shape the next generation of hockey goalie training.
More coming soon!
